How does it work?
Thermal power plants convert the base fuel into an energy source by generating heat.
This heat is what is ultimately responsible for driving a turbine that produces the electricity.
Our figuresOur fleet of coal and fuel-gas power plants, at the end of 2018, has an installed power capacity of 2 GW worldwide. With a net power generation of 4.7 GWh.
Our installed capacity from coal in Spain stands at 1.7 GW.
Our fuel-gas power plant in the Dominican Republic produced 0.2 GW.
Our commitment. We rely on the best technologies to reduce the environmental impact of our plants: we carry out studies to capture and store the CO2 they emit and we have projects for reducing our water consumption. This enables us to identify recoverable water currents and analyse the technical feasibility in our plants.
