Andrés Montero, new General Manager of NEDGIA Galicia
- Raquel Vallejo, who was the general manager until now, will go on to run the Operations Department of NEDGIA in the central and southern zones.
NEDGIA, the natural gas distribution company of the Naturgy group, has appointed Andrés Montero as the new General Manager of NEDGIA Galicia, its subsidiary in this region of Spain. Andrés Montero replaces Raquel Vallejo in the position, who will now go on to run the Operations Department of NEDGIA in the central and southern zones.
The new General Manager of NEDGIA Galicia was born in Paderne (A Coruña, Galicia) and studied industrial technical engineering at the University of A Coruña. With almost 20 years of experience at Naturgy Group (formerly Gas Natural Fenosa), Andrés Montero has held various positions of responsibility within the field of natural gas distribution in Galicia. He will combine his leadership of NEDGIA Galicia with his position of NEDGIA Construction Manager in the northern zone (Galicia, Castile-Leon, La Rioja and Navarre).
NEDGIA has demonstrated its commitment to Galicia by appointing someone to manage operations by the distribution company who has broad knowledge of the region, and extensive experience and history at the company in Galicia.
Andrés Montero is joining the team headed up by the Manager of the Operations Department at NEDGIA for the northern zone, Celestina López, and the two of them will take up the challenge to continue expanding the natural gas distribution network in Galicia and encouraging the new uses for this energy, which include the implementation of sustainable mobility with natural gas and promoting renewable gas.

NEDGIA is firmly committed to a decisive contribution from natural gas to improving air quality in Spanish cities. To that end, it is working to develop innovative and efficient solutions for bringing natural gas to new users and promoting the new uses for gas, such as sustainable mobility as an alternative to traditional fuels or renewable gas as a sustainable and competitively affordable option for building a carbon-free energy system and combating climate change.
Furthermore, the company is working to digitalise all its processes in order to make the most of new technologies for making its business more efficient and effective, and connecting with the more technological and demanding reality.
Presence in Galicia
NEDGIA Galicia supplies natural gas to 77 municipalities, meaning that close on 70% of the population has access to this energy source. It has almost 300,000 supply points and a distribution network that spans 3,400 kilometres.
