class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Naturgy is taking part in\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>ZEPPELIN project<\/strong>, the overall objective of which is to research a flexible set of\u00a0<strong>green hydrogen production and storage technologies<\/strong>\u00a0based on harnessing\u00a0<strong>waste and by-products<\/strong>\u00a0in an effort to significantly improve the\u00a0<strong>production costs and efficiency<\/strong>\u00a0of this energy vector.<br \/><br \/>This project addresses the various\u00a0<strong>technological challenges<\/strong>\u00a0involved in reforming biogas and bioethanol, dark fermentation (DF), microbial electrolysis (ME), gasification and the storage of H<sub>2<\/sub>, creating new ways to obtain green hydrogen besides electrolysis using renewable energies and integrated into a decarbonised energy model under the principles of a circular economy and digitalisation within a water stress scenario aggravated by climate change phenomena.<br \/><br \/>\u200bThe project is scheduled to\u00a0<strong>last\u00a0<\/strong>for\u00a0<strong>38 months<\/strong>\u00a0(from 1 November 2021 to 31 December 2024).<br \/><br \/>ZEPPELIN is being carried out by a\u00a0<strong>consortium consisting of Naturgy and seven other companies<\/strong>: Aqualia (as the consortium leader), Norvento Enerx\u00eda, Perseo Biotechnology, Repsol, Redexis, Reganosa and T\u00e9cnicas Reunidas.<br \/><br \/>Also collaborating are\u00a0<strong>nine research organisations<\/strong> (CETIM, CIEMAT, EnergyLab, CIDAUT, Instituto de Tecnolog\u00eda Qu\u00edmica (ITQ-UPV and ITQ-CSIC), the Fundaci\u00f3n (FUNGE-UVa), IMDEA-ENERGIA and ITMATI), which possess complementary technological capabilities to support all the long-term research activities class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>ZEPPELIN has a total budget of \u20ac7,108,584<\/strong>\u00a0and a\u00a0<strong>grant of \u20ac4,239,725.90<\/strong>. It has been subsidised by the Centre for Industrial and Technological Development (CDTI) under the 2021 call for proposals of the SCIENCE AND INNOVATION MISSIONS Programme (Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan) and is being supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. The grant given to the project is being funded by the European Union through the Next GenerationEU Fund. This programme funds pre-competitive cooperative research projects led by companies to achieve:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element We will be\u00a0<strong>supported by the EnergyLab Technology Centre<\/strong>, with which we have been working for several years on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturgy.com\/en\/our-projects\/mixed-renewable-gas-unit\/\"><strong>Renewable Gas Mixed Unit Project at the Bens WWTP<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in A Coru\u00f1a.
