Just transition
We want to contribute to a socially fair and equitable energy transition
We put support plans in place to encourage business activity in regions where power plants are located
The energy transition entails a series of transformations that can occasionally have adverse effects in certain communities affected by changes in the economy and employability in their regions. The impact of coal-fired power plant closures is one example of such effects. To address this situation, we employ an approach based on the following premises:
- We prioritise environmental measures and health and safety procedures in the dismantling processes.
- We are committed to stakeholders in the area surrounding the power plants.
- We give sites with a second life, pursuing alternatives for new industrial uses.
- As far as we can, we mitigate the economic and employment impact in these areas by means of support plans, consistent with the historical link with the territories.
- We support the creation of employment and contribute to the training of workers in new skills adapted to the requirements of the energy transition.

Impacts
This process seeks to help progress with the transformation of the company, supporting the creation of employment, strengthening the productive fabric of coal-fired power plant sites and sharing value with society.
We consider the challenge posed by the fair transition as a unique opportunity to transform our production model and make this process a driver for investment and job creation.
